''I am often asked why I don't choose one craft, one discipline, and devote myself to it alone.

But I've never believed that creativity needs to fit into a single box.

I don't want to leave parts of myself on the shelf simply because they belong to different disciplines.

My multiple talents, passions and curiosities are all part of who I am, and I want to explore them, nurture them and allow them to influence one another.''

About Me

Susannah Camilleri is a Dutch-Maltese actress, singer, voice-over artist and television presenter.

With a multidisciplinary background and a versatile vocal range spanning both soprano and mezzo-soprano, she brings a combination of musicality, emotional depth and adaptability to her work.

Driven by a fascination of human psychology and storytelling, she enjoys exploring the many ways a character, a song or a story can connect with an audience.

Early Years & Training

Born and raised in Gozo, Malta, Susannah began studying ballet, acting and singing at the age of four. After moving to the Netherlands in 2004, she continued developing her skills across the performing arts, gradually building a foundation that would bring together her interests in acting, music and movement.

Between 2012 and 2014, while still in high school, she focused on musical theatre at the Amsterdam Youth Theatre School. In March 2012, she also made a guest appearance in Winter of War (Oorlogswinter), based on the novel by Jan Terlouw, at the renowned Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam.

Following high school, Susannah auditioned for conservatory programmes in Amsterdam and Utrecht and was accepted into both.

She went on to study at the HKU Conservatory of Music in Utrecht, completing a Bachelor of Music in Jazz & Pop vocals.

Alongside her contemporary vocal training, she developed her classical singing, specialising in both soprano and mezzo-soprano repertoire.

This dual vocal classification is one of her distinctive strengths, allowing her to explore a broad range of vocal colours, styles and performance opportunities.

When she completed her vocal studies Susannah pursued acting training at the Film Actors Academy Amsterdam and undertook additional acting courses at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, further expanding her skills for screen and stage.

From Stage To Screen

In 2021, Susannah joined a leading Maltese casting agency, expanding her opportunities in international film and television.

She appeared in Apple TV+'s science-fiction series Foundation, directed by Rupert Sanders, and the British television series The Madame Blanc Mysteries, directed by Dermot Boyt and starring Sally Lindsay.

In 2022, Susannah’s vocal group TWELVE won the title of Best Vocal Group of the Netherlands in a national competition. Susannah performed the lead vocals on one of the group’s winning songs, 'Dobbins Flowery Vale'.

Alongside her musical work, Susannah also continued to develop her career as a voice-over actress.

In 2023, she recorded additional voices for Disney’s live-action film The Little Mermaid at IYUNO Studios in Hilversum, as well as voice-overs for several Dutch commercials.

In 2024, she lent her voice to two short films that were both selected for screening at the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF).

Television Presenting & Production

In August 2025, Susannah began working on the tv series 'Into the Med' for MED.TV, taking on a multifaceted role as television host, scriptwriter and co-producer.

In addition to presenting the programme, she writes its scripts and manages production logistics, contributing to the creative and practical development of the show.

With plans to take the program to other Mediterranean countries, 'Into the Med' aims to explore and showcase the region through Susannah's journey across its diverse destinations, cultures and stories.

The project brings together her love of storytelling, her connection to the Mediterranean and her interest in discovering the people and experiences that give each place its character.

This role has expanded her work beyond performing, allowing her to combine presenting, writing, production coordination and creative development within one project.

Fluent in Dutch, English and Maltese, and drawing inspiration from her Dutch-Maltese background, Susannah is interested in projects that invite curiosity, explore human complexity and create a genuine connection with an audience. Whether through a character, a melody or a story, she is always looking for new ways to bring any performance to life.

''I am often asked why I don't choose one craft, one discipline, and devote myself to it alone.

But I've never believed that creativity needs to fit into a single box.

I am both introvert and extrovert, creative and analytical, visionary and operator.

I am an actress and a musician, a classical soprano and a contemporary jazz and pop vocalist.

These are not separate versions of me, but different expressions of who I am.

I don't want to leave parts of myself on the shelf simply because they belong to different disciplines.

My talents, passions and curiosities are all part of who I am, and I want to explore them, nurture them and allow them to influence one another.

Rather than competing, they have opened up a wide range of possibilities in both my professional and personal life.''
